The short version
- Experimental. Clef is an independent builders camp project, inspired by Cloudflare's Clef decision models. The contract is new and has not had an external audit.
- Non-custodial. This site never holds your funds or your keys. Your stake goes into a smart contract on Robinhood Chain, and only that contract's rules decide where it goes.
- You can lose your stake. A payout depends on everyone's forecasts in the round. A confident wrong forecast can lose most of what you put in.
- Your call. You decide what to sign. Transactions on a blockchain are final; nobody can reverse them, including us.
What Clef is
Clef is a website that helps you read and use a smart contract on Robinhood Chain (chain id 4663). Every hour the contract opens a round with a few questions about tokenized stocks and ETH (ETH only on weekends). You answer with probabilities and a stake in ETH; when the hour ends, the contract scores every answer and pays out by fixed rules. The docs describe those rules in full, with a worked example. The answers come from prices in decentralized exchange pools, which traders can move; the docs also explain the defences and the risks that remain.
You can use the contract without this website. The website is a convenience: it shows the rounds, does the arithmetic, and builds the transactions your own wallet signs.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for your wallet, your keys and every transaction you sign.
- You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you. Do not use Clef where taking part in forecasting contests or prediction markets for value is not allowed, or if you are not of legal age where you live.
- You will not try to manipulate the prices the rounds are scored on, attack the contract or the site, or use them for anything unlawful.
Fees and costs
The contract takes a fee of 5% of profit on winning entries, with a hard maximum of 10% written into the contract. A new rate only takes effect 24 hours after it is announced on chain, and each round keeps the rate in force at its first entry. Losing and break-even entries pay no fee. Every transaction also costs network gas, paid to Robinhood Chain, not to us. If a round cannot be priced, it is void and every stake is refunded in full.
What the operator can and cannot do
The contract owner can pause new entries, change the fee within the 10% cap (after the 24 hour delay), set stake limits, set the weekday and weekend schedule, and add question sets and assets (only pools the Uniswap V3 factory recognises). The owner cannot move, freeze or redirect any player's stake, and a pause never stops settling or claiming. A round keeps the rules it started with.
The $CLF token
$CLF is the project's community token. You do not need it to play: rounds are staked and paid in ETH. Nothing on this site is an offer or a promise about $CLF's price or utility. Its address appears only in the Copy CA control, once it launches.
No advice, no warranty
Nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. The site, the contract and the Clef reference forecast are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, the builders are not liable for losses from using them, including losses from bugs, price manipulation, network outages, wallet problems or your own mistakes.
Changes
We may update this site and these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes to the site never change the on-chain rules of a round you have already entered.
